Bug Tussell, South Carolina is located 9.1 miles northeast of Ridgeway, South
Carolina in Fairfield County. Current Population is 7 Humans, 13 Dogs, 1
Cat and countless other wildlife. Bug Tussell is home to Lost Gold Records,
Inc., Attic Recording Studio and The Confederate States Mint LLC. The name originated from the Bocephus Shack named for Hank Williams Jr. The Shack was for years a wild
and wooly place to party on the weekends. It is now the product warehouse
for Lost Gold Records. Historically it is the landmark home of A.W.
Matheson, a Judge, Magistrate and member of Confederate General Wade
Hampton’s Red Shirt political wing. A.W. Matheson raised 11 children in
the Shack and recorded several hours in 1930 for the Library of Congress.
Bug Tussell is truly an American Treasure. Only one dirt lane makes up Bug
Tussell’s Main Street. If you visit, it’s on McFadden Lane.
